The inverter output is wired directly into your panel. It is a circuit just like your other circuits except it supplies electricity instead of using it! This system does not provide back-up power.
An inter-tie system will reduce your electric bill by allowing you to sell electricity back to the utility. When the sun is shining, your meter will turn backward if you making more electricity than you are using.

There is no change in the electricity coming into your house. The only change is that your utility bill will decrease. The inter-tie system is extremely simple. It consists of a Powerhouse with AT LEAST 1000 Watts of solar panels, and an inter-tie inverter like the 2500 watt Xantrex pictured here.

The Inter-Tie Powerhouse is designed to meet NEC code. Local codes vary from area to area. We work with your local electrician to meet your local authorities’ requirements.

These systems qualify for the $2000 Federal tax credit (as do all Independent Energy Systems.) These systems may qualify for various state and local credits or rebates as well.
